Avoriaz is completely embedded within Les Portes du Soleil ski resort and stands out for an architecture that blends beautifully into the site’s landscape, with pyramid shapes, sloping roofs and red cedar wood tile facades. The snow covered pedestrianised streets where horse-drawn carriages take the place of taxis, and sunlit patios give guests the chance to soak in the holiday village’s delightful ambiance. Avoriaz was voted the best family resort at the World Snow Awards in London. This prestigious prize recognises excellence in meeting the whole family’s needs.
Avoriaz is a south facing resort located at the top of a cliff, at an altitude of 1800 with guaranteed snow. Its central position in the Portes du Soleil resort offers direct access to more than 600km of snow sports space, one of the biggest in the world.
There are year round events and activities for the all family: In winter: the Children’s village (right in the centre of the resort), skiing lessons using fun teaching methods. Torch-lit runs, Christmas in Avoriaz, the Snow Carnival, La Grande Odyssee dog sledging race, Avoriaz Jazz and Cabaret, and more.
In Summer: Avoriaz is a station that sets the standard for mountain sports, with a skate park, kayaking, mountain biking, horse riding and tennis. There is also Le Proclou golf course: the course extends over 45 hectares of pastureland and forests and offers a panoramic view over the Aravis mountain range. And many Street entertainment, night time dance parties, musical shows.
Avoriaz is also famous for the Aquariaz, which is an eco-constructed water park open in summer and winter. This 2,500m sqm water park has an exotic tropical atmosphere and a 28 degrees C temperature. It has a pool, a wild river with bubble jets, a swimming lane, a paddling pool, a water fountain tree house and a half-pipe sidewinder, all heated by a wood-burning boiler. It is right in the centre of the resort and its style works beautifully with the rest of the resort.
The residence is the fourth building composing a new development in Les Crozats area. It has a beautiful and harmonious architecture with red cedar wood facades which blends perfectly with Avoriaz’s existing architecture. It has insulated cladding, balconies with thermal breaks overlooking extraordinary panoramic views and a multi-level roofing to contain snow. The decorative design is inspired by regional style and the mountains with wood being a predominant material for its warmth and natural touch. All the interiors are flooded with natural light thanks to the wide windows and doors. The furniture has been designed with a contemporary feel and sophisticated colours, following a new design concept: adaptable furniture that moves to suit the living space for every moments of the day. It is chalet style design with a twist. The residence is composed of 39 apartments from 1 to 2 bedrooms, a guest reception, luggage room, launderette, ski lockers and store rooms.
